Practical Test
Your test starts with an eyesight test (if you can not read the number plate from the correct distance your test will not continue)
You will then be asked a combination of show me tell me safety checks.
After entering the car the examiner will tell you to follow the road ahead unless signs or road markings say otherwise, and if he wants you to turn
he will tell you in good time. Test routes are designed to be as uniform as possible and will include a range of typical road and traffic conditions.
During the test, the examiner will ask you to carry out 2 reversing manoeuvres, choosing from the following:
Reverse around a corner (left reverse) |
Throughout the test you should drive in the way your instructor has taught you. If you make a mistake, don't worry about it, it might be a less serious driving fault and may not affect your result. The examiner is not looking for a perfect drive, he will be looking for an overall safe standard
of driving.
